39 weeks

No signs of Roo's arrival yet. If we make it, our 40 week appointment is next Tuesday for one final ultrasound. In the mean time Amberly decided she wanted some extra attention before the new baby takes over.  She woke up this morning with a nasty eye infection.  I think her plan is working since I gave into some couch cuddle time.

38 weeks

We are 38 weeks 3 days with not signs that labor is near.  Our OB says everything is looking great and we should expect some news in the next week.  Jarrod and I are ready to meet our little guy especially since all of our friends and the British royalty have gotten to meet their bundles.  Jarrod keeps telling him, "It's time to come out now..." I think Roo is just trying to reach is maximum brain potential before giving up the kiddy pool.

Our 38 week growth scan tracked Roo's size to be within the 80th percentile at 8lbs 1oz. His head and belly tracking about a week ahead of his femur and humerus.  Overall his growth rate and size sound much more comfortable to me :) and our risk of needing a C-section has dramatically decreased.

32 & 36 week check-ups

Now 36 weeks and counting :D

At our 32 week check-up and sonogram we got to see him breath... Very cool surprise!  His lungs are going strong and his heart rate is still running normal at 160bpm.  Roo checked out in the 89th percentile for growth at 5lbs 5ounces.  That's 2+ weeks ahead of schedule.  Later that day, Jarrod said, "What if he's bigger than me?"  Does every Dad wonder that?  My response was, "Ouch, that's gonna hurt!"  Check out the ultrasound link for our newest sonogram pictures.

Yesterday, we had out 36 week sonogram which was a test to see if my gestational diabetes diet has paid off.  It did!  He is now only in the 70th percentile growth at 7lbs 1ounce.  That sounds much better to me.  We were nervous about needing a c-section or induction due to his big head and large projected size.  Looking good now!  Kat, my sister, came with us and we all got to see Roo breath and make sucking motions with his lips.  Very cute although the pictures look alien-ish still.  We also got confirmation that Roo did indeed "drop" so he's getting ready and man my body feels it!  Glad I've got some yoga and lamazze techniques up my sleeve.

We also had our OB follow-up today and left feeling confident that we are on track and everything is looking good.  Baby has dropped, no dilation, but on track for a normal delivery :)

Thank you for all the fun baby gifts!  Jarrod and I have had fun receiving baby gifts and adding them to the nursery.  A thank you to for the anonymous Graco pack-n-play.  Those always come in handy... or so we are told :)

Looking forward to seeing everyone next week in Florida!

Little Roo is still growin'

Our little roo is growing strong and packs a punch.  We saw the OB specialist and our main OB today for the 24 week check-up.  Both docs gave us a two-thumbs up!  Our baby boy is 1 lb. 12 ounces with a healthy heart beat of 151.  He is so big now that Jarrod and I can see him move across the baby bump.  Jarrod can even hear him moving around now!  We are just waiting for the dogs to realize there is something alive in my belly.
